it's either TC105Ns (17x8 +49f, 17x9 +49r) and A048s @ stock sizes (maybe 225s). ...The added grip to justify the cost

Advan RG-Ds +60 staggered with 235/40f, and 255/40r Star Specs...I do like the TC105Ns that much more though. Just bugs me spending that much money and not having an increased contact patch, but finding A048s in 255/40 is becoming a challenge as they have been discontinued. They are still available @ vividracing.com from what I see, but that remains to be seen when it comes down to purchase-time.

Grinding material off the mounting plate will reduce the load capacity. I would not recommend it.

 

The material where the bolt goes in is only 10mm thick on most wheels. Although it is concave, it is not recommended to shave the back.

 

Why don't you call one of those wheel refinishing/customized placed liek memoryfab and ask them? That is where I assume you would send the wheel as well. I was curious about this because I thought I saw this service offered but I could be wrong or it could be gear toward 3 piece wheels that you are putting different lips on.

 

I would rather roll fenders than shave a wheel. the worst thing that could happen is that the fenders are slightly flared. if it's a 9" wheel with 55 offset, you're still safer rolling the fender so that the tire doesn't grab the tab at full compression
