Hello all,

I just wanted to see if there are any members whom can help me out with distinguishing if a set of Work Emotion wheels are forged or cast? I know the forged are no longer made and the current Emotions are all cast. Is there a way to visually tell the difference? I believe they look exactly the same visually?

I don't think you are going to be able to tell by looking at them. There should be some part number on the wheel that may tell.

 

hit them with a hammer, if it doesn't bend, it's forged.

 

Forged wheels bend... cast wheels usually shatter.

 

They look different. Mine are forged, they have thinner spokes and the center caps look different.

 

Hmmm this may be something informative I can actually use to tell the difference without damaging the wheels with the other techniques mentioned above! So

 

yea they look different. the cast ones (newer kai version) has indedtation on the lip and the older cast ones have thicker spokes and no indentation. the forged have the thin spokes like the kai version minus the indentation on the lip. also for the forged, there are different colors offered. hope it helps a little

 

oh yea and the cast dont have center caps
