Interesting tire rolling diameter test
Actually it's the circumference I measured, but it's interesting just the same.
I did this testing to see how tire pressure affects tire circumference, which of course affects speedometer accuracy. Since I was developing a new speedometer calibration module (called the "Yellow Jacket") I wanted to know how much the speedometer would change due to variations in tire pressure.
These measurements were made with brand new tires mounted on stock wheels. I taped a piece of a tie-wrap on the rear wheel, pointing at garage floor. I taped the floor under the "pointer" and marked the spot, then rolled the car forward one revolution and measured the distance. You can measure to within 1/32 of an inch using this method.

Anybody have any information on tire growth versus speed (tire rpm)?
