Default Jim-Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3?

Jim,
What's the deal with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires as a replacement for S-02's?
They seem to have rave reviews. Has anyone tried these?
S2000- MY2000.
Thanks

In the 16" the GSD3 is a very narrow tire 1.2" narrower than stock. I would not recommend it for the car.

I was thinking about getting a set of these for my rears in replacement of my worn RE050s. Would I be ok as far as tread width?

They are about $50 cheaper each than the RE050s, and are more highly rated. Other tires I was considering was the BFG KDW2s, Bridgestone RE760, Potenza RE-01R and Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2, but I don't want to lose any actual tread width. I just want the tire that will give me optimal grip overall.

The RE050s have pretty mediocre reviews, and the RE01Rs seem to be a lot better for only about $3 more each. Anything bad about the RE01Rs?

Also, what's the difference between RE050A, RE050, and RE050 pole position?

I also noticed the prices online are more expensive than those in my car/driver and road/track inserts.

Go up to 255/40R17 in back so the width is correct.

But you really aren't supposed to mix tires like that.

Well the front are still in good shape, but I will replace them with a matching pair once they are done.
