Check Tire Rack website, or any tire manufacturer's website, they'll give recommended rim width ranges.

Personally, I don't see any compelling reason not to run stock AP1 sizes for winter (I'm running Dunlop WinterSport 3D fronts with Wintersport M3 rears).

Getting the best tire appropriate for your usage is infinitely more important than whether they're a size or two over- or under-sized vs. stock sizes.

If you get a lot of snow the 205/55R16 all the way around works best. If I can help with the tires let me know.
