Keeping Those Lug Nuts Nice!
So everyone knows when they get some nice lug nuts and they want to keep them nice. Yet the first time you tighten then or the first time you loosen then off the car there are those god awful marks on them like so on my T1R Lugs. You can kinda see in the pics.

Just got some new Rays, and don't want the same to happen to them. So anyone use tape on anything or buy a rubberish socket lol. Whats your tips?

The project kics one are good. The coating they use seem very scratch resistent. Well the hard anodized gunmetalish ones that is.
I love my rays, but yes, there anodized scratch oh so easy.

So is their any thing you can do to prevent this from happening? Tape each lug before you put it on and then remove tape after you torque lol. I was thinking someone should make a hard rubberish socket ha!
get a thin wall socket to protect the rims and find a thin piece of cloth such as kevlar or a material similar and get it between the socket and lug nut or maybe even dip your socket in a slim coating of rubber and throw some lube on it before you use it lol !!
Either mask off the inside of your tools or get the rubberized hadle dip for tools. Heat it up to make it very runny and then dip. Make sure the surface is clean or you'll have to do it again.

They make non marring sockets specifically for lug nuts. They have a plastic coated inner and outer sleeve.
