Default Klutch SL1 ?

I have been on a hunt for 16 inch mesh wheels for my 01 forever. I have no desire to go to 17s or 18s, and I prefer the 3 piece mesh wheel look.

Well I stumbled across this website with these rims. I did a little research and I found out that weight wise they are basically identical to my factory AP1 wheels. The offset is where im lost. I havent found a single thread of someone running these on an s2000.

http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/Wh...ain2&SKU=13355

this site says they will fit an s2000, but who actually knows. I dont want to call and ask, because im sure the response i get will be along the lines of "if the website says they fit, they do"

so how do I know? anyone running these? help?

I see they are made in 5x114.3 bolt pattern so yes they will "fit" an s2000 but you need to call and figure out what offsets they offer to know how they'll fit.

They don't say what offset or width is and they list the tires included as 205/55/16 which is much narrower than the OEM ap1 wheel. If you don't want 17's go buy a set of used BBS's in the right bolt pattern and the right offsets.

One quick google search to find there website and this is what you get.

ront(16x8.0"/et15/4x100) Rear(16x8.0"/et15/4x100) - $1000.00

Front(16x9.0"/et18/4x100) Rear(16x9.0"/et18/4x100) - $1060.00

Front(16x9.0"/et18/4x114) Rear(16x9.0"/et18/4x114) - $1060.00

Front(16x8.0"/et15/5x100) Rear(16x8.0"/et15/5x100) - $1000.00
Front(16x8.0"/et15/5x100) Rear(16x9.0"/et20/5x100) - $1030.00
Front(16x9.0"/et20/5x100) Rear(16x9.0"/et20/5x100) - $1060.00

Front(16x8.0"/et15/5x114) Rear(16x8.0"/et15/5x114) - $1000.00
Front(16x8.0"/et15/5x114) Rear(16x9.0"/et17/5x114) - $1030.00
Front(16x9.0"/et17/5x114) Rear(16x9.0"/et17/5x114) - $1060.00

There is not a single option that is even close to fitting an s2000 unless you want that sweet mexiflush look of super poking out tiny wheels. If you really want to waste $1200 send it to me and I will put it to good use.

Here you go. Cheaper, not knock offs, and actual offsets that will work on the S2000.

Seriously you should buy these. They are perfect for the S and what you want.

Manga, I looked for GTUs but couldn't find the right sizes. Are those gold or silver? Hard to tell on my phone

Sliver and they are the right sizes. If you want gold VR wheels can refinish them for you. The main point is the Klutch wheels do not fit.

I would prefer gold. I also would prefer a known brand like those. I just came across the klutch in what seemed like an endless search.

You won't have a ton of options in the 16 inch wheel catagory really. If you want gold I still think buying the ones I posted and having them powder coated or painted is the best option. If you do find them they will have low offsets and crap tires and are meant for VW's not S2000's. You would be much better of going with 17's because you will have hundreds of choices and plenty that require little to no fender work.

Manga. I really like the volks, looks like they are 2 piece.

Having never taken apart a wheel, is anything special needed to take them apart or reassemble? The company selling them wants 250-400 to powder coat them. I have a friend who powder coats as part of what he does for a living, so if I get the powder from Sherman Williams hell do it for nothing. Seems like a cheaper route.

And yea I know 17s would be easier but I just don't care to go that direction. These wheels you posted seen to fit my needs perfectly.

I haven't take a wheel apart but I do know you are supposed to replace the hardware when you do. Pretty sure it should be as easy as undoing all the bolts and then replacing them. Maybe search to see if anyone has a DIY of this online I am sure there is one someplace.

As for powder I suggest Prismatic powders. I used their powder on my brake calipers and I was very happy and they have a huge amount of colors and will send you samples.
