Default Kumho MX Tread Width on OEM 16'' rims

Has it been determined that the rule of using non-OEM 245/45-16 rears does not apply to the Kumho MX 225/50-16? This rule doesn't seem to be contradicted anywhere, but it would appear that people are running 16'' MX's, which only come in the 225 size (for 16's), and that these tires are wider than the average 225 tire.

The 225 MX appears to have a larger section width than the OEM 225 S-02 (measured on a 7-inch rim), but of course the real question is of tread width.

Does this MX break the rule of a 245 non-OEM rear with its (potentially) similar sizing? Does anyone know the tread width numbers for the 225/50-16 MX?

(I will update the tire size sticky if we come up with an exception to the "rule of 245")

Thanks for any insight,
Neil

section width and tread width is totally different. you still want to use the 245-45-16 size for the rear.
