What is the largest R compund size tire that is used on our rear stock 16 in wheels? And can someone tell me why the japanese flag has appeared below my name?

245 is the widest tire I've seen for a 16" wheel period.

Someone on the forum used a 265 Kumho Victoracer v700. Don't ask me if this will fit oem wheels or rub.

I suggest you put this in the wheel & tire forum for better feedback.

Well there you go 265.

It might not be the best idea though since the min. recommended rim is 8.5" vs. the stock 7.5" (for pre-'04 cars). It might fit, but that contact patch would be so distorted. It might not be much better.

My guess is that you wouldn't be able to use the full amount of contact patch that a 265 can yeild since your sidewalls are having to flex in so much to meet with the rim. This would also yeild a "sloppy" feeling in the steering since the tires are just too big for the rims, the sidewalls would probably have more flex than with a proper sized rim.
