whoops hit enter prematurely. anywhoo, I've been looking at nice rims all day long- lets get some opinions on the nittiest grittiest rims that cheap kids like myself has been able to put on the S2k. I've really curious considering all the emphasis on the "get the correct offset or go to hell" aura i'm feeling on the board. Now... I personally like the Konig theory and the absolute's, along with a couple of other 'cheap knockoff rims'. So i'm wondering what other shotty rims you people have made 'work'. And by work i mean no rubbing, okay handling, etc... BTW i've read that someone has been able to change the offset of a rim from 45 to 48 somehow--- any ideas on how to do that? aight... going to sleep- peace.

Here's a challenge- don't use the words: "Mugen, Spoon, Volk, Workmeiser, or "anything else over 1.3 g's/4wheels"

ROH wheels. Cheap, look great, and fit. They are heavy though at about 28 pounds each.

cheap, light, strong

99% of the time pick 2 but not 3.

i'd say go for the knock-offs if you have to have a specific design. personally, i'd lurk on the for sale boards and pick up some second hand Racing Harts (which funsdead is selling i think) or some Volk CE28 (which fit this car perfectly).

offsets/fit make a huge difference in aftermarket wheels. if you never drive your car then it doesn't matter, otherwise get wheels that fit!

If we're talking price, weight, strength, and a perfect fit with a wide footprint, you can't go wrong with ASA FR1's with Kumho MX's, 225 45 17 F, 255 40 17 R. Slapped a set on my S a couple of weeks ago and like so maney others here, am very happy with this combo. Best bang for the buck by far.

Tirerack had a closeout on these but they stopped selling them. PM Pharoah, I think he knows where to get these still.

Go to Victoriatire.com and do a search for wheels on the S2000. All of their wheels feature a 45mm or higher offset and wheels can be had at as low $100 per wheel for 17's.
