i have a 2" drop... my first wheel setup was Enkie Racing S old school 2 piece stepped lipped : 17x8 32 offset front and 17x9 35 offset rear. tires were 215/45/17 and 245/40/17. no rolled fenders!!!!!! 2 degree camber for rear. it would rub randomly in the rear right when hitting bumps.

My newest setup is Advan rg2 gold 17x8 35 offset front with 225/45/17 and rear 17x9 45 offset 245/40/17. same 2 degree camber as before. NO RUBS AT ALL. it really matters on size of tires. if i wanted the 255/40/17 tires i definately might need a little roll.

I can honestly say both of my wheel setup were HELLAFLUSH, Honestly dont roll your fenders cause the day might come where you wanna sell the vehicle and u cant get value out of it cause of those jacked and rusted up fenders... And yes it will rust up eventually.... Cant really rely on forums for those questions, everyone thinks they know but they really don't unless you try it yourself..

If done correctly I don't see how you'r fenders will rust with just a roll, I've had mine rolled for maybe 3 years without any problems, just have someone with experiance do them, if you pull and go hellaflush then that's a different story.

Ok, I'm happy to dial in some more camber as the current setup doesnt feel agressive enough for my style of driving anyway but I wouldnt want to go more than -2 degrees as I'll start to eat tyres and the roads over here mean I can't get away with cheap tyres unless I want to compromise the handling.

I have a friend who is running 17x8+35 and 17x9+38 and about -2 degrees camber and his doesnt rub at all since he's had the fenders rolled (and i think flared on the front).

The question is am I pushing it and will I need A LOT of fender work to fit 17x9's on the front as well as the rear? I want to go non-staggered as I've read this gives the car a more planted feel on cornering and weight through the steering wheel but I also want that nice concave face on all 4 corners. I want it to be hellafunctional as well though as the roads are pretty bumpy in places around where I am...

Also, what sort of width's tyre will I need without having rediculous sidewall stretch or them looking too meaty?

I have a full fast road geo setup with corner weighting at a cost of about $800 so being totally new to all this offset and width stuff so I don't know whether I'm asking the impossible with this size wheel, wanting hellafunctional and whilst still making sure it handles really well.

You will rub with that offset. But even if you don't rub the wheels should seem out of fender of the car. Stay close to 50+ offset. Remeber factory offset is 55/65

How will it rub with that offset if my friend has very similar to that and archwork done without any problems with rubbing?

The reason I want new wheels is because the OEM ones look crap they sit so far inside the wheel arches and I don't believe in using spacers. +50 will look hardly any different.

I wouldn't go any lower than +49ish, and even then you'll probably not be able to get any extra rubber on the ground.

Dude in your post in quote you ask if you will need a lot of fender work for the 17 x9? The answer is no if you have a proper offset. 38 offset WILL need a fender rolling. Plus your car will look ridiculous with the wheels out of the car. And what will be the benefit of running a 9" wheels if ypu're only goind to put a 235 tire maybe 245. It makes no sense to me. But it's your car

It seems to me that you already make your choice. Go ahead and do it, like I mentioned before it's your car

I've not made my choice otherwise I'd have already ordered a set of wheels by now. I'm asking questions as I think of them because I don't know much about it all.

If +35 offset is too much then I am open to the above suggestions, I just need to find wheels that are a good fitment for the S then if that's the case but I don't want to pay the earth.

Work XD9's would be what I'd really love and they do them in a decent offset (+48) whilst still having a nice dish but by the time I pay for them to be shipped to England and pay 20% import tax as well as about $50 import duties they're a crazy price

The whole wheel thing is doing my head in now as I've been reading around for weeks as well as looking and trying to find a wheel design that I like in a size that will fit whilst still giving the look that I want and its at the point where I'm ready to give up!

If it sounds like I've made my mind up over it all then I haven't. If +35 is too much then thank you for the advice, I will just have to look elsewhere for different wheels.

Thanks.

My new Works are 18x9 (+30) 18x10 (+38)

However, I own an Eastwood Fender roller and have experience w/pulling fenders...therefore I am not worried about it.

Look at this thread. they are differnet wheels with different styles and some are very cheap
