I have a set of ENkei GTC01s (non staggered), which I intend to fit to my S while I refurbish those lovely AP2 V1 wheels. Would the lugnuts I had used with those wheels on my dearly departed Mazda MX5 (NC) fit the S2000 without a problem? Much appreciated, Not sure what site to go to look up compatibility.

I've not found thread differences in lug nuts other than antique cars with left hand threads on the left side of the car. So threads shouldn't be a problem but the shape of the nut where it mates to the wheel is critical. So it's a wheel issue, not a car issue.

So as long as the wheel sits flat against the hub should be all good. Will give one wheel a try and see.

No. Look at the diagram. The lug nuts need to mate properly with the wheel. Flat lug nuts against a wheel that needs a conical or ball radius nut will not hold the wheel on properly and vv. The wrong nut will damage the wheel.

The Honda lug nuts are "ball radius." But for all I know there are an infinite varieties of ball radius. No way to tell at my garage as my Ford lug nuts are "tapered conical" and even IF their thread pattern was correct will damage the Honda wheels and vv. And I think (there's that word again! ) the lug nuts that were on my aftermarket wheels were different than the Honda lug nuts -- I sold them with the wheels -- but they were Einke wheels just like OEM Honda wheels. The Honda wheel locks just say "Honda" on the package leading me to believe all Hondas use the same lug nuts regardless of car or wheel model.

Miata lugnuts should be conical...which is the correct seat type for those Enkei.

However, they are 19mm hex...which means the socket you use probably won't fit into the wheel's lug holes.

Buy aftermarket conical seat lugnuts with a 17mm hex. M12x1.5 is your thread size.

 

There is differences between different makes. Nissan and Honda for example don’t use the same lugs. It does look like Mazda and Honda both use m12x1.5 but like chuck said you need to make sure the lugs you are using for the aftermarket wheel have the correct seat which would be conical for the aftermarket wheels and ball seat for the oem wheels.

 

I would be using the same lug nuts that worked with the wheels on the MX5, and I am using the socket that TR sent me at the time. Will test this weekend and see.

 

If they're aftermarket lug nuts with a small hex/spline/internal drive, then they will work fine.
