I bought my S2000 on Tuesday (and yes, I love it), but I noticed this morning that the front tires are S-03s and the rears are S-02s. Should I invest in a set of new S-02s for the front (the fronts aren't lookin so hot, I'll measure tread this afternoon)? Before this car I had something that went fast in a straight line so all that mattered were the drive wheels. In a car like an S2000 should my front and rears be the same tire (of course 205 front and 225 rear)?

 

Many people have reported having problems when mixing tires, as 1 may grip and not the other. I've stayed with S02's so can't tell you from personal experience the differance.

Get the S-02's and match things up.

 

You would not hurt the car by putting different tires on the front and rear but the handling will suffer. It really shows up in extreme conditions like accident avoidance. I think you are better off matching them and then when the tires wear out the next time you can go to a different tire.
