Why didn't you just ask about putting a 225 in the front, then?

It's very common. It drives fine.

well because if a 235 would fit fine, i would really like to go with a 235/255 setup and a thicker sway bar upfront, but i feel 235 would be slightly too much on the front rims

Stick with a 225/255 setup. Going with a wider front tire actually gives you less extra grip in the rear and does not help reduce oversteer. Go with 225/255 and get a Saner or whiteline front sway bar if you want to reduce oversteer.

yes, the 235 front tire would increase oversteer, thats why i would go with a thicker front sway bar to decrease oversteer to allow for better braking while cornering and again better traction through the turn

To keep the balance of the car you should stick with 225/255 but if your set on a wider front tire go for it.

tire and wheel goes together like hand and glove

you can stuff in bigger tires into a narrow wheel or stretch a narrow tire onto a wider wheel, it will degrade your handling/feel/safety. The tire contact patch will change and you'll get different feedback at the steering wheel by it

if you stuff a tire too wide for the wheel, you are most likely to get a mushy feeling, the added rubber sidewall delays the command from the steering wheel to actual turning of the rubber.

225 sounds like a safe bet, plus most performance tires today are underrated for it's width, it's a cheap way to get more "sticky" without compromising the wear and rating.
