The Porsche owner was running 35psi hot and I had an M3 owner running 38 psi hot and both said they ran their fastest times ever.
I was also told there is about a 1/2 hour break in period and after that they were good to go.

So the cold pressure was probably only 30 lbs or less.

I'm very interested in knowing whether I can drive one these tires to the track. I'm driving from New Haven to The Glen (300-ish miles) and am debating whether I should go thru the hassle of hooking up a hitch and getting a track trailer or just driving out on some decent tires.

Any comments appreciated!!!!

The tires are DOT approved so you could. We have not had enough testing to say one way or another. In looking at the tread depth and pattern I would think you could.

I guess I'm not as comfortable with the "could" vs. the "should." If I could just throw the tires on for the duration of the trip, that would certainly be convenient, but what's the real "cost" of doing so as far as wearing out the tires more quickly? I don't expect a hard-and-fast answer, but if I'm doing 300 miles up, 50 miles around the track x 2 days, and 300 miles back, am I going to use up all the rubber I just shelled out $$$$ for?

If you are looking for the best, I would say to go with the trailer. It is always possibel to damage a tire intransit and ruin your track time. Given the tread design and feedback on tread life I would say you would be ok. I would say the Pilot Sport Cup would be about the best option to do this with if you want to drive them there.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

With a 50mm front and 63mm rear offset, these wheels will fit better than any other aftermarket forged rim that we have come across yet. As for pics, you can view some pics of Greggs car on our site under the Wheels Tab. I also have 2 sets remaining in Ti Silver. Once they are gone, its a 3-4 month special order wait.

Gregg - Will you be heading down to CMP on the 20-21?

Do you guys think I can get away with 205/55R16 and 245/45R16 on stock rims without changing the front swaybar to a stiffer one?

Thanks.

The sizes you mention will fit on the car and on the wheels fine. Someone who has raced the car as to how it performs on the track. With the sizes you mention the width differences will be about the same as the OE tires.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
