Thumbs up mixing

i was going to get new rear tires for my car (street slick), and leave to front stock and back stock and use the tires only on track days, but i keep hearing that mixing tires are bad. is this true?

Yes. It's bad. Not safe. Avoid it.

Not all tires have the same level of grip and characteristics in dry/wet/snow. If you mix, you can upset the front to rear balance and make the car less fun and/or less safe to drive.
