Thumbs down MY02 rear tire replacement

I lost the rear on MY02 red on black batmobile yesterday. I need to replace both rears since they're bald at 11K miles. I was thinking about trying SO3 or maybe RE050, in 245/45/16 since they are later OEM offerings. My fronts are still fine. I wanted to replace the rears only, and by the time the new set of rears wears out, the fronts may be used up. But I have read in this forum many warnings against mixing tires. Love the OEM SO2 dry grip, but I get a lot of rain. Also hoping for longer tread wear. This is my daily driver, so I need to get 'er done, quick.

Replace both fronts and rears with the same model of tire, for best results. most of the posts I read here, say the S0-3 is a good all season tire.

I would tend to agree that matching tires is always best for handling. The S03 is not an all season tire but does have superior wet performance. It would not be the first time that someone has run the S03 with the S02.
If I can help let me know.

I also need new rear tires on my 2001, I currently have the stock bridgestone S02's. does the S03 look the same as the S02 profile and tread pattern wise? Because I have the S02's so I already know what they look like, I'm wondering if the s03 looks the same. I like that you mention they are better in the rain and that's why I ask because I drive the car alot also and live in NY where we get fair amounts of rain. Also if I keep the S02's in the front and put S03 in the back will this make the ride smoothness any different or wear the tires quicker or is it no problem? Please let me know, I need to get tires today or tomorrow(I got a flat in the rear). Pm me or post help - thank you, Sean
