Default MY04 alignment problem...

Hi guys...

I am just wondering if any other MY04+ owner has had this same problem. First off, my car is stock and I'm running the stock size Bridgestone RE050. My first set of tires needed replaced around 10K. The rears were worn bald evenly across the tire. The fronts however...had plenty of tread left...or so it seemed. Once the tires were removed, I noticed they had excessive inside wear. So much so, they needed replace even thought the rest of the tire had plenty of life left. I'm now approaching 20K. I recently jacked the front of the car up and noticed the same thing happening to this set. Does anyone else have this problem

I am asking this question because I purchased the lifetime alignment package from Firestone. Due to the cost of these tires...I have the alignment checked every two months. The alignment is always set to the OEM factory specs. Should I be following a different spec??? Or is Firestone doing something wrong???

Did they give you a sheet showing what they aligned the fronts to? If they did, post the specs. It will make it easier to answer your question.

I have an MY04. I'm getting even tire wear in front. Using UK specs.

The rear tires will wear faster than the fronts but inside wear on the front tire can be corrected with less negative camber. To say the car is in aloignment is not good enough. There is always a + or - to the alignment specs. Have them check it and take some of the negative camber out.

I've only had my 2004 for a month (from previous owner). The fronts on my OEM 050s have some (not much) noticeable inside wear. They are original w/ 21k miles, I assume the previous owner hasn't touched the alignment since factory. I will be replacing all four shortly, should I get an alignment at this time also?

T'is normal. My last rears had to come off at 8.3k and my fronts inner tread were down to 2-3mm so I changed all fours tires.

My front camber when they went on was:
L -0 degree 31 minutes
R -0 degree 29 minutes

When I had the alignment carried out for the current set of tyres, the camber had changed in the 8.3k miles to:
L -0 degree 35 minutes
R -0 degree 22 minutes

Had both front's camber reset to -0 degree 28 minutes and am losing lots of tread right at the inner edge. My Honda alignment report had a range of -0 40' to -0 20' so I suppose I should move closer to the latter reading.

Those UK Optimum readings are giving you more negative front camber (-1 degree 0') which may well increase your wear rates but help improve the tyre's dynamic contact patch while cornering.

I have the specs at home...I'll post them later.

Thanks for all the help!
