Default Need Help

Hi All,

I live in NJ, am a spirited driver and a daily driver... I drive about 400 miles a week in my S2K. Oh and, since I am supporting my Mom and Dad... money is super tight.

So, I am looking for an All Season tire that will last a while, has decent performance, wet handling and snow handling. I have been looking at:

Kumho ECSTA
Avon Tech M550
Yokohama AVS dB S2

Could you please give me your opinions on them and/or make suggestions for other tires?

p.s. I drove all season last year on POS Goodyear RS-A's that the dealership had put on my S.. and I didn't know better at the time.

Thanks,
Lorie

Assuming you are on stock wheels and are looking for 245 rears, your options are limited to the Dunlop SP 5000, which gets OK reviews. There are many other tires available for 17" wheels oddly enough. I happen to have the cheap Sumitomo HTR+ (17") and can vouch for their snow ability with winter trips to NM and CO. My rears will last 14k.

Dunlop doesn't make the SP500 anymore in the 245/45R16. The best handling I have seen in the all season tires is the Pirelli PZero Nero M/S. Just run the OE tire sizes and you would be good to go. Of the tires you mention I like the Avon Tech M550 AS. They won't be quite as good handling but they do cost less.
If i can help let me know.

They should be about 20 to 30K on both tires. Normally a little more on the front than the rear.
Give me a call if I can help.
