Need help with new tire selection
My '03 S2000 just hit 8,000 miles. Yes, you read that right. It has the original OEM Bridgestone Potenza S-02's on it front and back. I called Bridgestone today to find out the maximum amount of time tires should be kept and was told ten years regardless of how they look. Perhaps they're being overly cautious, but it's not worth risking my car or my life to find out. So, I'm interested in getting new tires. I never drive my S2000 in the rain and am perfectly happy with the OEM S-02's. Unfortunately, they're the most expensive option out there as far as I can tell. Perhaps there are better options now? Dry performance is all that matters. I'm not concerned about tire wear because I'm not near wearing out the OEM's and I'm going to have to toss them. Money is not much of a factory, but I don't want to spend more on an inferior product if a better product is available for less. So, given this criteria, what would you recommend and why. Thanks in advance.

The tire industry, not just Bridgestone says 6 years of use or 10 years from mfg. date. There are a number of very stick handling tires. I would look at the Bridgestone RE11 or the Dunlop Z11. Both of these tires are going to give even better performance than the S02 that came on the car.
If I can help let me know.

im in a similar boat with my 2006.
At the moment im running some shitty contis. version 3, but im considering some michellin pilot sport 3's... not sure if anyone has any experience with them? i mean they arnt the super sports which are universally accepted as awesome. Im looking for my dd, but dont want these shitty hard contis again. id rather have herpes. the reason im looking at the ps3 is because they are very reasonably priced at the moment. anyone got any 20c they wanna add?
pretty please

I've been running the Dunlop Star Specs for 20k miles and liked them very much.I replaced the rear 2 with the new Dunlop Direzza ZII's.

I personally run continental extreme contact dw tires on my s2000. They have been a great all around street tire. They ride smoothly and grip well in dry and wet. I would recommend running them at 36-38 psi cold. It has been the sweet spot for me. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good street tire. I also like the Michelin pilot super sports as well. I think in my opinion I like the continentals a little bit better because they seem quieter to me.
On the other hand, if you are looking for something that will be better for track days and/or aggressive canyon runs, then the z11, rivals, or rs3 are the way to go. Good luck with your search.
