Default Need help removing lug bolts

I need to remove the lung bolts to install longer bolts (for wheel spacers). Is there a tool or technique for removing the lug bolts without damaging the hub (i.e. I don't want to hit it them with a hammer)?

spray them down with PB Blaster and let it soak overnight and just use a rubber mallet the next day

Does the knuckle or brake dust shield get in the way of removing the studs?
