need help from tire gurus
I'm looking at hankook W300 snow tires in 205/55/16 size.. but they have 2 versions:
from spec sheet:
205/55R16 91H, Tread depth=9.0
205/55R16 XL 94V, Tread depth=11.5
So one is H rated and other V rated.
BUt what does XL(extra load) mean exactly, and why does H have less tread??

I can't help with the specific tire because I don't carry them but the H is a lower speed rated tire. The XL has a higher load capacity but would not really be needed for the S2K. For snow traction I would go with the deeped tread depth.
I was looking at those, didn't see the 205 in the V rated, just the H, was worried about mixing H front w/ V rear. If you are right, i may have to look at them again.
anybody actually know anything about the w300's?
