Default Need some CHEAP wheels to put winter tires on.

I have basically had to garage my s2k's for three winters now, so this year I am looking to get some Blizzaks so that I can actually drive places when there is snow on the ground. Right now I am leaning towards getting a set of WS-50's and mounting them on some really cheap rims so that I can switch them on and off when it is going to snow. People have recommended LM-22's but I'd prefer not to compromise and just get the best snow tires I can buy, and then switch back to my RE050's on my stock wheels when it is dry (yes, I know they lose a lot of grip in the cold... that's what I love about them ).

So my question is, are there any cheap wheels I can find on ebay or elsewhere? Do any other cars' wheels fit the s2k's lug pattern and offset? Should I just get some steel wheels?

What to do, what to do...

tirerack has these for $109 each (ASA JS6)

Why wouldn't you just leave snow tires on all winter? Seems like a lot of work to switch on and off.

I'm getting "performance snow tires" which will handle better than summer tires in cold weather. I don't know why you want summer tires that have crappy grip in cold makes no sense.

yes I see your icon, but Summer tires have poor grip, so won't be as safe as a tire that is designed to work in cold temps. Why would you want an unsafe tire just for ?

Have you ever get caught out with an un-expected 1/4" of snow or freezing rain on summer tires? Not IMO

Well then what would be a better idea, sticking LM-22s on my AP2 wheels, or picking up a set of AP1 wheels for $400 and putting them on there?

Basically what I'm asking is, will my 17" AP2 wheels diminish my snow performance enough to make it worth my while to buy another set of wheels?
