Default Need wisdom on wheel choice

My son has a 2003 s2k that has been lowered. The prior owner put some cheap wheels and tires on. I want to buy my son a set of rims and tires front and back. Black or gun metal finish. Looking for recommendations that will fit. Im lost in all of the lingo. Thanks for helping an old man out.

It's hard to give a relevant recommendation without more info.

Staggered or non-staggered?
Stock or rolled fenders?
Diameter?
Budget?

For a fitment similar to stock at a reasonable price, I'd start with Enkei PFO1 and OZ Allegrita. Tirerack will only show conservative fitments so you might start there to see what is available. Enkei RPF1 is very popular but will require rolled fenders.

Honestly I would just buy OEM AP2 wheels and call it a day. You can have them painted or powder coated whatever color he wants. They will fit right and be a quality wheel.

If you are set on an aftermarket wheel the PF01SS in 17x8 +50 and 17x9 +60 with a 215/45/17 and 255/40/17 for tire sizes. Thats the closest to oem sizes, they look oem and are a bit lighter as well.

Volk ce28 in 17 x 7.5+50 and 17x9+63 is a pretty common option for wheels that will fit and don't require rolling fenders

Advan RSII- 17 x 7.5 + 50 and 17 x 9 + 63 work as well

Both are great wheels.

Plan out your budget too because neither are cheap

Echo the AP2 wheels. These are 17". Any version of them. Stick with the OEM tire sizes. Choose your performance category, there's little difference in the prices.

Just depends what you're wanting to spend on them honestly. How much is the car lowered? That affects what can be thrown under there and actually fit. Also depends if you want to roll or pull the fenders as stated above or if they are even stock?
Lots of variables if you want more detailed answers.

I agree that it really depends on your budget and personal preference. Lots of ideas here- https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/842...-of-your-rims/
