Default Neova vs RE-01R

The title says it all... I'm going to be using these primarily for road driving, but they will also see some Auto-X and DE use. Wet traction is a factor, but dry traction and cornering feel are more important. I think they're both AT LEAST safely driveable in the rain, so I don't anticipate any issues there.

Any experience you folks have with tread life would also be appreciated. I'm not going to be using these as exclusive track tires, so wear does have some sort of impact on my descision.

If price is important, the RE-01r is a good bit less than the AD07.

AD07 has better 17inch rim sizing. I like to run 225/255 atleast.

The Bridgestone RE01R is going to have the bigger sizes but I do not have a due date yet. I would have to go with the Neova in the 225/45R17 and 255/40R17

Thanks for the feedback folks. I'll be calling up Tirerack later on today to order some Yokos.

I may attempt to order a front RE-01R in 215/45/17 from Japan (as a poster on this board has done). Then just get the 245/40/17 rear from Tire Rack. Since the front lasts twice as long, it might be worth the added shipping expense. Then i will have an oem AP2 match.

Any advice in ordering from Bridgestone Japan would be appreciated.

The RE01R's are on sale right now at Tire Rack, 225/245 17" setup less than $550 -100 Rebate for SCCA members so $450 total, I doubt you can get the Neova's for less than $800. and with less treadwear, so more than double the cost per mile for a tire that is arguably no better. ?? It's your money though.
