New direction in wheel search
I was hoping to get some used AP2 rims and throw on a set of 615 Azenis , but it seems to me that the asking price on the AP2 wheels is a bit high.
I don't care how the rims looks, don't want a different alignment or have to make any body changes (car is leased).
What's the most economical way to go here? Stick with 17's, get 16's, etc. etc. And here in Socal, rain isn't much of a factor either.
Would think that there are some aftermarket 17's that are cheaper than stock, light enough and the correct width to run some Azenis or similar.
Thanks for all comments, and if anyone out there has a setup like I'm looking for that you're looking to sell.....lemme know. No doubt at the end of the lease I'll be selling mine off too.

Make sure to look into tire availability before you decide whether or not to go 16. The widest 16" tire in the falkens, kumho mx's, and most other CHEAP summer tires is 225. Hankook offers the RS2 in a 245 and that's the biggest I've seen.
Used AP1 rims are by far the cheapest way ($300-$400) to get rims with good offsets. The rears are 2 lbs lighter than AP2 rims, so there is a little performance gain there, which is offset by having a narrower rim. That really isn't that big of a deal since for the price range you're talking about, you're not going to get either a lighter, or wider aftermarket rim than stock. There are some brands that don't have 16" performance tires, which is a negative if you have to have a certain brand of track tires, but Toyo RA1's and Kuhmo Victoracers come in 16" 205/245 combos for stock suspension configurations. These tires are durable enough to drive to the track and come back and give way more grip than any summer performance tire.
Unless something drastically changes, will be picking up some AP2 wheels tonight. Found the right price at last.
Next will be finding tires.
Still thinking 215/45 and 255/40 Falken 615's. Seem to be the best bang for the buck. Does anyone know of a good dealer / installer in the Woodland Hills area? I'll buy via internet if need be, but would rather get it all done at one time.
Thanks all,
Mark

Just got a quote from a local tire company.
Rims off the car, tires mounted, balanced, stems, etc otd $600.
This is for 215/45 and 255/40 615's. Seems like a pretty good deal...should I go for it?
Thanks,
Mark
