Default New set of wheels now rubbing.

Hello I recently purchased a set of new wheels, the rear tires just slightly rub the outer fender. The rear wheel and tire specs are 17x8.5 +40 offset/ 245/40/17 tires. The fender lip has been rolled already, I'm going to drop the car to reduce the wheel gap with Bilstein PSS coilovers next month. My question is should I pull the fender out a tad bit more; would pulling the fender out fix my problem? Thanks!

I would run no less than -2.5 in the rear... should take care of your problem.

Thanks for the input, I plan to lower the car with Bilstein PSS coilovers next month then shortly after get an alignment done. should I wait to adjust the camber after I lower the car when I take it to get aligned?

Where is it rubbing on the car? My guess is it is on the bumper so you just need to trim that back a little more and your problem is solved.

I agree.

And OP have it aligned after you lower the car of course.

Camber and bumper tab relocate if you haven't already. +40 with a 245 is aggressive.

Not particularly, the problem is the 245 tire sits square on the rim since its only 8.5" and therefore the tire gets hit on the crown rather then tucking with the camber sweep and fender line under compression. There would actually be more tire clearance if it was the same offset and tire on a 9".

Thanks for the input everyone, I took a closer look and I noticed it was rubbing on the rear bumper tab. I plan to relocated the rear number screw. After looking again I don't really think the wheels were rubbing the rear fender.
