Default Newb tire question - "Tech 4000"

I bought a used '01 and I'm looking for information on its tires. This is the only S2000 I've ever driven, so I don't have a good basis for comparison. The rear tires seem to break loose way too easily if I drive through a puddle before a corner; honestly, they break loose more than I'd prefer even when they're bone dry. I'm wondering if it's the tires, or if I'm just being too agressive accelerating out of turns - I'm transitioning from a weak FWD, so I'm sure that's part of it.

The rears are Tech 4000 Radial GTH P225/50R16 91H, the front tires are the same but P205/55R16 89H. The tread is very deep, they look almost new. I'd be reluctant to spend the money to replace them, but I'm worried about how they're going to handle in a real downpour.

Thanks very much!

Throw those tires in the trash I've never heard of them before... and get a set of Bridgestone Potenza SO2's You can force the car to break loose but it shouldn't do it that often. Get some good rubber. I've driven a few s2k's with almost bald tires (the SO-2's ) and still have to force it to break loose.

Get better tires if for nothing else the safety factor...
