It only becomes dangerous if you think the car will handle the same. If you realize the new handling limits of the car as a result of using such rims and tires and drive accordingly, no biggie. Almost anything you do to any automobile will changes it's handling characteristics. Understanding what those changes are will keep you and the car safe. However, if you drive it like you did before, then yeah, it becomes dangerous.

We must talk about this from 2 perspectives. Are you still running staggered tires or are you not?
If you still run the same sized tires all around, then as Derr posted, you will increase the tendency to oversteer due to the smaller rear contact patch compared to the front.
If you remain with staggered tires, you will be doing one of 2 things (depending upon the width of rim you choose) you will be stretching the narrower tire out onto the rim and you will be pinching the wider into the rim. Not only will you have to alter the tire pressures to maintain an even contact patch, but you will have a spongier feel on the tire that is pinched due to more sidewall flex and reduced tire pressure.
If you go with the 7.5" rim width like in your first post and go with the stock tire confirguration (215 front and 245 rear) then the fronts will be fine (just like stock) and the rears will be "pinched".
