Default OEM S2000 wheels 8.0 width all the way around?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything about it. Has anyone tried going same sizes width all the way around with the S2000? I would be interested as to how the car's handling would be affected. Thanks!

OEM S2000 wheels 8.0 width all the way around?, Would it work?
As far as I can recollect, OEM rims come in 6.5" X 16", 7.5" X 16", 7" X 17" and 8.5" X 17". They come in 8"?

Regardless of the width, you can only use OEM front rims on the front and rear. You cannot use an OEM rear rim on the front.
As for working, I guess it would work, but your car will be even more tail happy unless you have staggered tire sizing with those uniform rim sizing. Then the narrower front tires will "bead out" and the wider rear tires will "bead in". Not sure you want to do this for performance driving.

I agree with xviper. It can be done but I am not sure why you would want to. You would also need to be a little conservative with the front tires.

Sorry xviper I was mistaken about the wheel widths but I wondered if this would work since some e39 M5 owners match rear wheels in front which would make them all same width. They claim it helps improve handling and benefit of rotating all 4 tires.

On a BMW it does improve performance and it reduces understeer. Understeer is not the problem with the S2K. While you can run the same size front and rear the performance will not be as good. The only time I have used the same size front and rear is for winter tires. The narrower tire all the way around makes sense in the deep snow.

First, Jim has covered this pretty well.
Next, insofar as the BMW examply, you must elaborate a little more and differentiate between same size "wheels" or same size "tires" or both, all around. It is not just the wheels that affect the car's handling, but even more so, the tire width. You seem to be using the two interchangeably and this would be incorrect. I'm sure that you mean the same wheels and tires all around but in some discussions, this needs to be stipulated. Besides, you can't use a BMW as an example since the suspension and alignment and weight bias is not comparable to an S2000.
