Default Problem with Michelin Pilot Sport tire.

First of all, this is happening on my 2009 IS250 RWD..
it's not S2000, but you guys are the gurus here.. so here you go.

I recently noticed my both front tires have carzy amount of feathering.
I noticed it this late because car drives normally w/o any signs of suspension issue.

Car is lowered with lexus fsport spring with stock dampers. it only has 20k miles.
--------------------------------------

This is what I posted in Suspension forum, but looks like it's turning out to be a tire problem rather than alignment issue.

I visted Lexus dealer and their tech told me this is common issue with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires.

They simply go bad after 4+ years. I've seen many old tires with dried/cracked rubber.. but nothing close to this.

My tire is cracking, dried and it is basically falling apart.. (quickly too)

Quick google turned up few other ppl with similar issue.

Anyone else experienced same issue?

I just wanted to confirm that I'm not having some weird suspension issue..

I has those tires on my G35. Loved them. Never had any issues but depending on your climate they might be dried out and just plain old.

I've heard horror stories about those tires, never seen it in person before though. That's definitely not an alignment/suspension issue, you can see that the untouched rubber in between the tread blocks on the shoulder have already started to crack. Get yourself some new tires, and soon, that looks like a blowout waiting to happen.

New tires are on the way already.

I justed wanted to make sure I'm not dealing with any other suspension issue before I ruin new set of tires.

Thanks for your reply!

I'm sorry, that's far far from 'normal' wear.

I believe Michelin uses abnormally large proportions of natural rubber in their compounds on some of their tires (pilot sport a/s included). The natural rubber dries out faster which leads to chunking and high degradation after only a few years. OP- you need to increase your tire pressures as well!

My buddy has these same tires on his M5 and they are suffering from the exact issue in this picture. I personally would get rid of them and not buy any more.

I meant thats how the a/s plus tires will wear out. Its mormal for those tires to wear like that.Im glad u got different tires im not trying to make u keep those..i was implying that these tires specifically will always have a wear pattern like the picture u posted doesnt matter on the car they are mounted on. Good luck
