Smile Problem with Tire Change

I should have know better...I usually order my tires from Tire Rack. However, since my car needed an alignment, inspection, oil change and new tires, I decided to have everything done at Firestone. Big mistake...

First of all, it took Firestone a week to get the RE050s in. (Tire Rack ships in 2 days) Anyway, I made an appointment and anxiously awaited my "Big Day". The day arrives, but Firestone is too busy to take me. They call and ask me to reschedule for the next day (Saturday). Saturday arrives...this time I drive to Firestone. I am again told that they are too busy and am asked to come back Sunday...

Sunday arrives...again... I drive back to Firestone. This time, they are able to complete the work. Since I wasted most of my weekend and spent 4 hours Sunday afternoon in Firestone's waiting room, I could not wait to get home. Since I was in a hurry, I didn't look at my tires. Once I arrived home, I noticed my new tires! I had RE050 tires on the back and RE950s on the front...WTF?

Now what should I do??? I hate to go through this whole tire mess again. Will it be a big problem to mix the RE050 and 950's? Or, would it be best to have them changed out ASAP??? I'm not very familiar with the RE950...is it much different than the RE050???

RE950's are an all season tire....

I'd take it back and get what you paid for.

Go back ASAP and complain like no tomorrow. Personally, I'd order a set from TireRack, get them mounted at a decent shop, and bring back the 4 tires to Firestone and demand a complete refund.

Thanks for the replys!

I just got off the phone with the Firestone manager. He will replace my fronts with the correct RE050s at no cost. Unfortunately, I have to wait a week for them to arrive... (I just hope this weekend isn't a repeat of my first post...)

Anyway, I'm sure Firestone will have a nearly new set of RE950s very soon. If any of you guys run these in 215/45/17's, you may be able to get them cheap! Pm me and I'll let Firestone know you are interested.

MORAL OF THE STORY...Always order from Tire Rack!
