Question for Jim
Hi Jim,
You helped me a lot when I was shoping rims for my S2K a few years ago.
I now need to get rims and tires for my fiance's car and though I'm almost decided I had a few questions about fitment. I'll call on monday but was hoping to place the order on Tirerack today so I thought I'd PM you on the off chance you might check in.
I think I've found the correct offsets for her car online but am not certain so i was hoping you could confirm to me what the offsets are for an 04 Honda Accord LX-V6. I beleive they are 55 on a 16X6.5 rim. If that info is accurate I beleive I'm almost there (norrowed down to two rims...).
The other question is how much variation in offset and rim width would result in a different driving feel (for example increased torque steer). One set of rims on your site has the following specs which are pretty close: 17X7.5 with and offset of 50. I realise that's pretty close sinse the website recomends rims with offsets that are much further off but being that I've had a car with slightly wrong offsets in the past and could feel drastically increased torque steer I'm a bit nervous.
How likely do you think it is that a noticable difference in driving feel would occur from the wheels being about 1/2 inch further out on each side (if my calculations are correct).
Sorry for the long message, thanks for any input you can provide and if I don't hear back from you I'll give you a call on monday.
Thanks
Shift

You are going to be around a 48mm offset with the 17X7.5 wheels. I would say you could be anywhere from 42 to 50 on the offset. They will all fit the car without any problems. If I can help just let me know.
I was out of the office for a few days at a funeral.
