Default Quick question...

Presently running Kumho MX's 255/40/17,on 9.5' Volk;can I use 275/40/17,in the back,when replacing my 255???
Lowered +- 1'',and my rear wheels are 9.5",with 63mm.offset.
I know about O.D.being different,acceleration,speedo error,etc...
But,I already have 4.56 gears,and a yellow box to compensate speedo.etc...
What do you guys think???
Thank's in advance.
-Emil.

Emil, I'll give you the same answer I gave this fellow:

In your case, yes, a 9.5" rim will also comfortably accommodate a 275 tire. Corvettes used to run this for many, many years.
Now as for the width being an issue, like that other fellow, you can also measure out 10mm inside and out and see where this will take you.
As for diameter, you will increase by 0.7". This will introduce a further -2.8% speedo/odo error that can easily be fixed with the YB. Of course, this will negate 2.8% or the mechanical advantage you currently enjoy with your gears.

Volk wheels are x9 not 9.5... a 275 tire will fit but it will bulge and might cause problems with the fender.

Thank's guys.
I wish 265 were available but they're not.
I guess,I'll stick with 255,as I'm very happy with them now,and don't have any problems.
Would have been mainly for looks anyway.
Thank's again.
-Emil.

You don't need a 275 tire in the rear. Everybody already thinks our cars are fast

275 is kind of middle of the road... Best is to go with either 265/35 or 285/30... But your 255 is more than enough, I'm only gonna be rockin 265 on my wheels and they are 10" wide.

^^^^^^^^^ BTW, THOSE sizes up there were for 18 inch tires.
