Maybe in wet traction and ride comfort.

The 070 is supposed to be a step up compared the the RE01r. Best Motoring did a comparo of them on the new Civic Type R. I just wish I could understand Japanese to see what they were saying about the tires

RE070 is a step up from 050 in a big way except perhaps the wet handling. (i've never used comfortable tyres except for the 050)

In terms of sidewall its stiffer, less broad and less deep water grooves on the outer shoulder and also less grooves totally.

Grip is quite good and breaks away progressively. It can take a beating as well without being worn too quickly.

Straightline braking is good in wet or dry. Cornering in the dry is a very confidence inspiring affair as you can feel how much more the tyre can take fairly easily but you need to be careful in the wet as the small rain grooves limit your grip.

just a caveat, i've tried this tyre compared to rt215 and not much separates the two except better (but sharper) dry handling for the rt215 but thats balanced by a longer re070 lifespan and better wet handling.

i could complain for hours about the 050. But i wont.

Because i have to live with them for the next few months til new rubber comes in. Oh the horror.
