Default Re-11 vs SS-2?

I'm going to replace my old OEM tires for a 2004 and can't decide between the Bridgestone RE-11 and new Michelen SS-2....Does anyone have some feedback? These are for north carolina and aren't driven below 45 degrees, also no autocross.

No comparison, RE-11's hands down!

Should I be considering anything else? Or just pull the trigger on the RE-11's?

Compare RE-11 against:
Hankook RS3, Kumho XS, Dunlop Star Spec, Nitto NT05. I would buy any of those before I came outta pocket for RE-11 or Yoko AD08.

Michelin IMO, has the most overrated (and unjustly expensive) tire lineup on the market.

If you're not autocrossing why get a tire with 180 treadwear? You don't need the all out grip so IMO you're wasting your money. Check Sumitomo HTRZIII, BS RE760, or Kumho SPT's. You'll get better tire life, spend les money, and even if you don't drive sub 45 degrees, you won;t be limited if you do.

^ Good point. If you aren't autoX'ing or tracking then the level of grip of an RE-11 competitor would probably be lost on you anyway.

These things are awsome in the wet and are super quiet in the dry.
