recommend tire series for 17" rims

Default recommend tire series for 17" rims

hi i ordered some aftermarket 17" rims and wondering whats a good series tires should i go for...my rims are staggered and was goin for 225/45/17 front and 255/45/17 rear...u think if i went 40 series tires it would be ok?? i don;t want to lower any more to close the wheel gap cuz car already low enuf..what are usual reccomended sizes.. need some advice thx

You should go with 225/45 fronts and 255/40 rear. This will make both about the same diameter and the rear won't change your speedo too much.

I agree with XViper on this one. I have a set of LE28N 17s on my S... it's my daily driver, for an 80 mile round trip commute. I'm running 225/45/17 and 255/40/17. The car handles really well and I have no rubbing problems of any kind... then again, I don't have it lowered either, but all is well with the stock ride height and these sizes.
