Default Recommendations for Winter Tires/Wheels?

Hi guys, I'm moving my AP1 (stock suspension) to the East Coast (Central NJ), and I'm looking to buy a set of wheels and tires for the winter months up ahead. Does anyone have recommendations for a good winter tire/wheel combo? I'm looking to hopefully not have to spend too much money, but just want a set that'll get me through the winter nice and safe.

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet would probably be to buy an extra set of ap1 wheels and then put winter tires on. Id keep an eye on craigslist and the classifieds here though you may find a set with winters on them already.

Thanks for the advice. If I end up not being able to find those, what are a good new alternative (wheels and tires), and what sizes should I run?

OEM sizes work, but limited selection (Pirelli SottoZero).
I'm running 205/60-16 and 225/55-16 Dunlop SP WinterSport 3D on my AP1 in the winter months. About 3/4" larger in diameter than stock, but hey, 3/8" more ground clearance... Great in the snow and not too bad in normal non-snowy conditions.
You could also look at 195/60-16 with 215/55-16.
Or 215/55-16 all around.
Lots of workable size options...

Michelin X-Ice xi3 are are my weapon of choice. 215/45 & 245/45 on ap2 wheels.
Gets me up my driveway when its covered in ice when the old Dunlop wintersport couldnt.

Would all of these sizes work on stock AP1 rims?

Hmm, I looked around on craigslist and the for sale forum around here, and I can't seem to find people selling AP1 wheels. Does anyone have recommendations for AP1-sized rims that would be good for the winter?

I've been looking at winter tires, and I've narrowed my choices down to a couple: Blizzak WS70, Blizzak WS80, and Michelin X-ice Xi3. Does anyone have any experience with these? Also, should I be looking at these full-on snow tires, or looking at performance-oriented snow tires? I'm in Central New Jersey, so I certainly expect snow, but realistically, the roads will mostly be plowed, so I think I will be driving more on slushy, wet roads than on hard-packed snow.
