There are a ton off good choices in between SS and HTZs...

I had HTR Zs for a little bit and they are a quality tire. The biggest complaint I had heard about them is that they were heavy (they are) and hard to balance (they weren't). HOWEVER, I moved on to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asyms and it is night and day. The Goodyears are a whole class above.

Well I do alot of daily driving, I havent taken my car to the track yet but once I can I will. I've done hours of research and im still not sold on neither Star Specs or Sumitomos. Now that you bring up those Good Year Eage f1 Asym, I see that theres a new one which is called the Asyms 2? I see that theyre about $80 difference. How well does your car drive with those Good Years? Im very picky about the Sidewalls on how they look on the stock ap2v1 wheels. Any pics? Thanks!

There's a ton of existing feedback on the Star Specs in prior threads if you're looking for more.

I am in the process of switching over to the Asym 2s. I needed new rears first, so they have them now. The fronts will get them when they wear down, but the car still feels pretty balanced. For me the Asym 2s were significantly cheaper. The car drives great. I noticed a pretty dramatic decrease in road noise going from the Sumi to the Goodyears, and putting new ones on reminded me how quiet they can be. I am not too particular about the look, so I don't quite know what you are getting at or what is "good" to you, but I love that they have a very distinct lip protector that should do some good work if I ever need it to. I can email you a few camera phone pics of a 245/40/17 on a RE30 rim if you pm me your email address.
