Default Replacing Rear Tires

how many of you have replaced the rear tires first while keeping the oem front tires. i was just doing some tire checking today and noticed that the rears probably has another 7k left while the front looks brand new. i've never had a car with a staggered set up where i didn't have to rotate the tires, so its a little weird that both are not wearing out evenly which is understandable.

if this is normal for the S how many miles until you changed out the front tires?

Lots of people burn through 2 sets of rears to each set of fronts. There are about 3000 threads here on this same topic. Personally I replace my rears before they get to the wear bars, and then ditto for the fronts. I'm currently replacing rears every 7-10K and fronts every 13-15K on average (for the past 100K miles or so)
