S-03's Vs. Re750
From all the research I've done, it looks like that by switching to RE750's, I will sacrifice some performance, but are the S-03's that much better in wet/dry/cornering traction?
I don't push my car too hard (ie, no racing) and want some extra tread life...

If you never take turns fast, never go on aggressive to semi-aggressive mountain drive, then RE750 is a good enough tire with longer tread life.
But, you get what you pay for. S-03's are one of the best tires out there for dry/wet/cornering traction.
Personally, I would never settle on mediocre tires... but, it's up to you.

p.s. lower traction also equals to increase in braking distance as well.

Yeah, I have S03's now all around (225/50/R16 in the rear). I am going to get 245/45's and will probably get the S03's again...
The main problem is that the middle of the rear tires have worn faster than the outsides. I have read in another topic that this is 'normal' for this tire, but no one knows why.
Sigh...

I have replaced my SO2s with RE750 back in March. Since then I have tracked the car in Mid Ohio and went through numerous trecherous rain stroms in my S2000 with RE750s.
My verdict? Unless you drive your S2000 like Michael Shumacker and take every corners as if you are racing, RE750 is a very competent tire. Dry traction is as good as SO3s although SO3 probably is better and may shave a second or two on a race track, I don't see RE750 as inferior tire at all.
Wet traction is supurb in fact I have put on nearly 7,000 miles on the car since I got these tires and treads looks fresh. Remember SO3s are much stickier and therefore, you will have to replace it more often than RE750s.
I have 225/55/16 front and 245/50/16 rear. Handling is very neutral unless I want to throw back end out. It is quite controllerable at the limit. In fact, my instructor at Mid Ohio asked me whether I had R Compund tires as he was demonstrating the line. As tire heats up, dry handling has gotten improved noticibly and after hard day of track, tires held up pretty well and I didn't have to worry about premature sidewall wear. But I think main reason I like the tire is because of it's wet traction.
If I lived in CA or AZ where it doen't rain or snow as much as Ohio, I would definitely go with much stickier tires such as OEM SO2 or even Advan series.
Not going to say anything bad about SO3 because it is an awesome tire as I read many reviews but longer tread life and excellent wet traction lead me into RE750s and I am very satisfied with it.
