I hate that the tire rack site won't allow me to search of wheels by size (although I understand why they do it).

Is there a car I can search by to show me available wheels if I want to go non-staggered - 17x9 or 17x8.5? If I search for wheels that fit an s2000, I'm only getting wheels that have a size to fit the front AND a size to fit the rear.

 

Subscribed because I want to know also.

Just run your rear sizes all the way around. The wider tires do take some work but you can make them work.

It would be nice to see a list of all wheel sizes, offsets, and details for a specific wheel for the more advanced users instead of a list based on a specific car.

 

^The problem is that people who "thnk" they know what they are doing would use it and blame Tire Rack when they screw up. Tire Rack does a great job at helping absolutely clueless people find stuff for their car.

 

That's why I said "more advanced users". The current setup on the site satisfies 95% of the people looking for wheels/tires. The other 5% wanting the odd setup will probably agree to a disclaimer. Just a nice-to-have feature.

 

I was able to use the tire rack site and get a non-staggered set of wheels out of it. I simply ordered 4 rear 17x8.5 +58 SSR Type F (on closeout for $249) and zeroed out the order for the fronts.

Tire rack called me to make sure that I wanted a non-staggered set-up and I comfired the order. I just got them today. The closeout price is 55% less than the original price; an excellent deal.

 

My concern however is finding a set of rear wheels if appropriate size fronts are not available.

For example, let's say there are a set of wheels that are 17x9 et63 (exactly what I'm looking for), but there is no front matching size, or the front sets are sold out. I don't think the tire rack web site will show the 17x9's to me.
