Default Seriously need help: options on these wheels!?

Howdy Folks!

OK, I wound up with these wheels - I don't really want to go into details about how and why (in short: the fitment was slightly misrepresented and I got my numbers a little back-asswards). They were a good deal and I have a great shop lined up to do an awesome refinish if this can be worked out.

These [Volks] are 18 x 8.5 +35 offset (front) and 18 x 9.5 +40 (rear). I was under the understanding it would be tight, might require a roll (depending on camber),but these appear to be way off.

Now granted with the wheel drooping it's hard to tell - I jacked it up a bit (but didn't want to put any real load from a jack).

If the problem was inside clearance I would happily run spacers (I ran them on track wheels on my Z06). I don't want to put undersized tires and stretch them.

I might consider more radical fender mods (since I think overfenders look pretty sweet), but I don't want to have to re-engineer the whole car for wheels.

I also wonder if these are a more common fitment for another vehicle like a NSX, or the like? If they were then I could sell them and be able to indicate to the buyer they fit *correctly*.

I really was excited about doing something custom in terms of finish on these.

Anyway the pics are below - this is just the rear (figured I would start there):

For hoots I searched on "NSX WHeel Fitment" and the first hit was from NSX prime and the 2nd poster had 17x8 +35 and 18x8 +42 (plus using spacers). I suspect these are a common fitment for several vehicles (just a little tight for a stock body S2K).

Obviously just the wheels stick out so once you add a tire they are going to stick out even more. I would say you are going to need to pull the fenders out to make this work. The front is going to be even tighter.

Yeah, I've seen a few folks posts close to the same fitment, rolled fenders, possibly pulled, other modifications. I'm just not into that level of re-engineering the car - if I were going to do aftermarket fenders I'd just keep them as they would fit amazingly well and give the car a nice wide track.

However, I've decided to keep this ride very OEM-ish and want to allocate most of the funds to go fast goodies vs. cosmetic change ups.

I'm going to post these for sale over on NSX Prime (since they appear to be a common NSX fitment) and see how it pans out.

I wish I would've bought that first set of Meisters I had originally planned on buying, but I thought these would be lighter and with a custom finish, something totally different.

Live and learn I guess!

stretch, over fender front and rear over fender and your set. Im not even sure if with a complete roll, relocation and bumper trim these would work in the rear but anything is possible with 3-3.3- camber and say a 245 tire rear.

Best of luck!

I've posted these for sale [here] again with a complete explanation of the fitment. I see some people really dig on massive camber and pulled tires (mixed with modified fenders) so maybe someone will be interested.

I also posted them over on NSX Prime since they're really close to the common aftermarket NSX fitment (and I already have an interested buyer just north of me which is awesome).

If I wind up keeping them, I need to make them fit correctly from my perspective.

That means wider fenders whether it's pulled OEM, or going aftermarket (which would be pretty cool).

I read that a few wheel shops will shave some of the back of the wheel down to add a few mm to the offset (one guy went from a +37 to a +42). I might investigate this, though I'm a little leery of anything that could affect the structural soundness of a wheel.

Roll and slight pull (usually happens when rolling) with 225s in the front and 255s in the rear should work fine with "minimal" rubbing. Or you can do 215f and 245r tires and they should have enough stretch so when the suspension compresses, they will tuck (also dependant on camber)

Thanks, that's helpful! The setup in your sig looks pretty aggressive, what kind of specs are you running?

I ran an iForged setup on my Z06 and the rear was about 1/2" too positive, but I had a ton of clearance on the OEM suspension (I was going to do some aftermarket rear fenders when I went with coilovers and slammed it).

These are nice rare, forged and light, and I love the style (plus my refinish should be killer) so I'd love to use them.

On that setup it was 17x9 +44 all around with 225/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears with 1.5 deg of negative camber in the front and 2.5 in the rear with minimal rubbing on the street and no rubbing on the track.
