Default Should i use spacers?

Hi this is my first post.. i had a look at the guide and was very informative..
Just wanted you guys additonal help.

Im about to purchase some 2nd hand Rays wheels. 18x8 front and 18x9 rear. Offset is +40. Tyres currently on rims are 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18.

If i were to i keep the tyres already on i would need some spacers to increase the offset to those of the guide.. is that correct? I dont know too much about spacers.. if they good or bad for the car.. or best avoided completely.

I am willing to also just purchase all new tyres and get spacers to fit so the wheels dont rub. Also the car will be lowered 1.5.

What are your thoughts and recommendations guys?

Thanks!

For the front:
6.5

ur up!

u will not need spacers mate., that will only bring your wheels further out from the guard... your 9'' wide wheel in the rears with a +40 offset will poke out using a 255 tyre, if anything u will need to roll the rear guards and run some camber.

im assuming the wheels didnt come off an s2k?

eugene!

Yep they came of a Nissan 200sx s15... very nice rims but, and good price!

So u think best way is to roll the guards, front and rear? Or/and get thinner tyres ie. 215 front and 245 rear?
You think i still be able to use the plastic splash guards up in front of the car...
Rolling the guards is basically pushing up that tab of metal running in the inner arch isnt it?

Thanks!

You are also going to need centering rings if they are available for those wheels. They are not hub centric and will probably cause a vibration. You are going to need to roll the fender lips and run more negative camber to make this work.

Ok looks like im gonna get slimmer tires 215 and 245 and/or roll the guards.

Will i still be able to use the oem plastic splash guards/linings inside the wheel arches?

Also wont negative camber make my tyres wear out faster/unevenly?

Or is a BIT of negative camber okay?..

Cheers guys
