Not sure the spring rate on skunks but they ride soft like stock!

i hear its not good to lower car with springs along with oem shocks setup, that it will burn out shocks and render them useless. Is this true, I am looking to lower and was going to buy the skunk2 springs but now looking at saving money for coilover set. Can i just use springs or is this a bad idea?

Think of it this way.... Who gives a crap about stock suspension. You see a whole bunch for sale & no one buys that sh|t, so experiment with it. Unless you want to remain stock, who cares.

Springs are good, but its nothing like a full coilover set up.

^ I agree. I was thinking about cutting my stock springs because it seemed stiffer than the Skunk 2s. Anyone ever done this? I figured if I cut 3 coils off my stocks it be slammed. hahaha

Unless you are on a mad budget, cutting springs = rice'd out son!

I have the skunk2's, and they are awesome. Ride a little stiffer than stock, but handle noticeably better. If you're getting wheels though, you'll need to roll the rear fenders.

I was actually thinking about doing that!

I had them installed 8 in the front and 9 in the rear, but after talking with skunk2, I found out the spring rates. The 9 coils are like 380, and the 8 coils are 240, so having the much stiffer springs in the rear made the car SUPER ass happy.

The 8's correctly go in the rear, so I have switched it to how it should be; 9's in the front and 8's in the rear. I just wish the front were lower again.

How do you like the 8 all around??
