I have a thin walled deep socket with an outer plastic protector that can be removed to make it even thinner. It works on evreything. Get a telescoping lug wrench to use with it.

That's exactly what I had in mind,when I posted this.Neat
Where did you get that,???

Here are some pics of my wheels and the lug nuts I'm using, sorry the pics are crappy. Is this the proper set up??? Or should I buy those mugen lug nuts like I posted above?
I can't tell from your pics, but my lugnuts that I got from the shop that sold me the Volks don't look like the Mugen ones. They do resemble the ones in your hand. However, those ones are only slightly different in overall appearance than the OEM ones. What you should do is compare one of your OEM lugnuts with the ones you're using for your Volks. They should have different tapers.

oem=conical (rounded)
aftermarket= tapered (60* taper)

to make it fit in hole.. buy a thin sidewall socket 19mm and a torque wrench and keep in car all the time. never use oem. thats made if u have a flat. and dont care about proper torque. or buy a 19mm (male end) to 19mm (female end) w/ a thinner sidewall on the socket..

this way u can use oem.. pop a diff end on it and still work fine.

personally i have a craftsman top of the line torque wrench in my trunk 24.7 w/ socket

So if we purchaed a set of Volk's we need to get lugs as well? Sheesh.

I just thought buy rims, take to tire store...mount. Is there anything else I should know as I'm close on pulling the trigger?

Yes, but since you paid so much for the Volks, they should toss in the nuts for free.

Oh, you'll need the centering rings. And do you want the center caps. They're not included unless you ordered them.

I have the rays lug nuts and I can use the stock wrench on them with no clearance issues.

I also tried the generic chrome lug nuts that came with the volk wheels and those worked fine too, but I wanted the bling and extra weight savings of the "duraluminium"

just what u gotta pay to have the right equipment.
imo worth every penny. i like the attention to detail of 3000$+++ wheels and their corresponding nuts/hub rings etc (all the rays wheels ive bought, ive also thrown out the extra $ for the anodized aluminum hub rings rather than simple plastic ones.

I think the sets I'm looking at come with center caps. I'll call Steve tomorrow and see what the deal is.

Thanks again Xviper!
