Default Snow Tire size

Is it ok to put 205/55/16 on the front and 225/55/16 on the rear for snow tires (Blizzaks)

You'll be running 1.1" larger diameter if you go with LMs. I would not recommend it.

OK,
What about 225/50/16 all the way around?

If you don't mind your speedo being out a bit, for winter use, it would be "manageable" but if you can, you should get the 50 series for the rears.

You will find that without a staggered tire size, your car will be a bit unstable at speed but if you don't plan to drive the freeways and stick to city driving, it would be "manageable". Just go with the exact sizes that you see on the OEM SO2s and you'll have no issues at all.

Xviper,
Do you mean 55's for the front since 50 is what you should have on the rear?
I'm learning all of this so this is very helpful to me so I may get the right size for winter driving.

Just got Dunlop winter sports in oem sizes. So far no snow but car handles great in dry conditions. Got tires from Tire Rack. They recommended oem sizes for snow tires

I'm not Xviper, but the answer to your question is "yes". Specifically, stick to the OEM sizes for winter tires: 205/55R16 front and 225/50R16 rear.
