Default Snow tires

i know this topic has probably been covered to death, but i tried searching/going back a few pages but i need to get snow tires. I know most people are using blizzaks. i went to tire rack, searched and all the had tires for was the 16" rims. so my question is to they not make the wheels for 17's, or they do and they suck or should i get some 16" winter rims and tires

If you want 17" snow tires, check out the Blizzak WS-50. I see you can get front and rear tires in your size. Pirelli also has some that are "close", as does Michelin and Dunlop. You just have to look for yourself and find a set that is fairly close to what you need. Check this page out and go to each brand and see what sizes they list: http://www.tirerack.com/winter/wintertires.jsp

Tire Rack appears to be out of 17" snow tires for the S2. They are suggesting a 16" combo instead.

Wow, must be a run on them. Is everyone's weather going to crap this year?
I would suggest going to some of your local tire stores and see what they have or can get.

I wanted a set of the Michelin Arctic Alpins when I bought my MY04, but it was February and everyone was out of stock. I ended up with a set of the Yokohama Guardex, and they've worked well in both ice, pack, and drifting powder.

I called and ordered snow tires for 17s last week. When I spoke to them they said they were out of the Blizzak LMs and wouldn't be getting them in stock again this season. I opted to get the Dunlap M3s which weren't in stock (well, just the front tires), but will be in about two weeks. If you have your heart set on 17s you should give them a call, they are very helpful.
