Some Weight Data
Well, yesterday I took some time to paint the center hubs and axle nuts black (since I won't be running center caps) and in between, I took the time to measure the weight of my OEM wheel setup against my new RPF1 setup just so that I can see if there was any kind of difference. The comparison that I used isn't exactly a perfect comparison only because 1) The brand of tires are different and 2) The tires mounted on my OEM wheels have most of the tread already worn off, which I'm sure makes a difference. I figured I'd share the information anyway, so I hope it is of some helpful use. If it isn't, then I guess just take it as knowing another random fact...
RPF1 wheel sizes:
Front = 17x8 +45
Rear = 17x9 +45
So here is what I found:
RPF1 weight with no tires:
Front = 15.3 lbs
Rear = 15.5 lbs
Which pretty much confirms what is advertised.
AP2V2 weight with Falken Azenis:
Front (225/45/17) with 40% tread left: 43 lbs
Rear (255/40/17) with 20% tread left: 46 lbs
RPF1 weight with Direzza Z1 Star Spec:
Front (235/45/17) with 100% tread left: 43 lbs
Rear (255/40/17) with 100% tread left: 44 lbs
Although the comparison is different, it is still obvious that the RPF1s still make a difference. For the front, although the weight stayed the same, the wheel size is larger and also the tread life is much greater. The rears even shows more cause the tread life is much more but yet the combination is still lighter.
I also believe that the sidewalls on the Direzzas are thicker than the Azenis, but I don't have any hard evidence of that other than just reading around the forums.
Well, I hope this is somewhat helpful. I just did this for my own curiousity but figured I'd share with the community.
Thanks for looking,
Andre

Good info
I wish the star specs were cheap like azenis!
I was actually going to get the Azenis again but it seemed like they didn't offer the 235/45 size tire, so I went with the Direzzas to try them out. I've been hearing really good things about them, so I went for it.

I just still haven't put them on the car yet. I'm going sometime later this week to get the fenders rolled so that they fit... haha.

Im gonna go back to azenis! This will be my 3rd set. I love the way the handle when its wet out. Now i have direzza's 101's and they really have bad traction.
EDIT: Just realized that you're talking about a different model Direzza.
