Default Someone please help!

I bought wheels a month ago and just got them back from powdercoat. The thing is I knew I had to run a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the front calipers so I figured I'd just run extended wheel studs as I would not have enough stud remaining to secure the lug nuts. But now after looking into it I have found that it is a pain in the ass to do, even with a friend with a press. So I started looking into alternatives and found Extended Thread lug nuts with a long shank that will allow me to grab some more threads on the stud. However, it's not very easy to find the right size e/t lug nut that I need. I've measured the diameter of the hole where the wheel stud goes through the wheel to be .59" which is pretty small. The e/t lugs I"ve found have a shank of .62" inches in diameter. So clearly they won't work. What should I do? Bore out the hole in the wheels to make the E/T lugs work?

Thanks

Run the OEM lugs. 5mm is within safe tolerance. General rule is 6 full turns. Double check what you get and report back.

Won't the oem lugs not seat properly? I have some nice powdercoated white lugs that I planned on running. I'm gonna try it and see if I can get in the 6-8 rotation range. Thanks.

They will seat fine, that doesn't change, all that matters is that you get enough turns on the stud. yes check it out.

I'm assuming they are aftermarket wheels so then the OEM lugs will not seat fine. If those lugs you got powder coated white are tuner lugs then yes use those and hopefully you get the 6 full turns.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. I'll post tomorrow. However, I don't wanna put my nice white lugs on just to take them off (mess up the powdercoat before spring)...can I use my oem lugs to check for rotation on my aftermarket wheels? Or would it be better to test the ones I plan on using?

Unless they are Enkei wheels, in which case OEM acorn lugs seat properly. Tuner conical lugs will not.

I don't know what wheels you have or what lugs so that's up to you to research, you should be able to get an idea of how many turns your going to get. Your going to get more turns out of the proper mated nut/lug combo though, so keep that in mind. You maybe get 2-3 less turns out of a mismatch.
